Hey, I had an XP machine I played D2 on and ran it without using the CD which I thought was a great thing. I now have a Windows 8.1 machine that I had to use compatibility mode for D2 to run. I got it to run in a window but it still makes me use the CD (I HATE using the CD to play the game).

How do I get it back to that? I had to download the patch from battle.net and installed it to v113.d immediately. Is there some other thing I missed? I thought all newer patches had everything up to that point inside them.
