Hi, This is my first time posting (I've commented a few times) here and I hope my reddiquette is alright?:p I've enjoyed lurking this subreddit! Mouse: I've also downloaded and installed the 'microsoft mouse & keyboard center'. I've got all the latest updates from windows update. Issue: While it's an awesome mouse, as the title says- it would stop working on my SP3 every now and then for 1-2 seconds. I suspected this was because of it being Bluetooth 4.0 LE (Low Energy) and followed this guide to solve the issue, It seemed to work for a while. Then it got worse and now the mouse cuts out for about 3-5 seconds. Any help or advice please?!

UPDATE 8/1/15: The issue seems to have resolved itself, not had any random disconnections or anything of the sort for the last few days. Haven't got a clue what changed. I have the same problem with an HP Bluetooth Mouse. It happens intermittently when I power up, the mouse sometimes isn't recognized. I first go to settings/Change PC Settings/PC and Devices/Bluetooth. Then I remove the mouse (as it is showing that it is connected). I then turn off Bluetooth and the mouse.

I turn the mouse back on and press the Bluetooth Discovery Mode button. Then turn Bluetooth back on. For me it finds the mouse right away. It says 'Ready to Pair,' and I press pair and then it re-installs it.

I gain mouse functionality the second it starts re-installing, the the full install on Bluetooth takes about 30 seconds. I can't seem to find a reason or pattern why this is happening.

Before I go on, make sure your Bluetooth mouse is turned on, you're batteries are good and you've push the button to on the mouse that tries to do the connection. With those obvious things said, what I did to solve this same problem was to go to the Bluetooth setting window (All settings, Devices, Bluetooth & other devices). I then selected the device that was paired but not connected. In my case, that was the Sculpt Touch Mouse. I then selected the 'remove device' button. I then selected 'Add Bluetooth and other devices'.

It then asks what kind of device I'm adding and I selected 'Bluetooth - mice, keyboard, pens or audio and other kinds of Bluetooth devices. It found my Sculpt Touch Mouse, I selected it and my mouse began working again. I'm not sure if this is effectively the same thing as reinstalling the entire Bluetooth driver as the previous solution suggested, but I thinks its not - and it's probably a little less invasive (i.e. I was able to connect to other Bluetooth devices and a different model Bluetooth mouse; so the entire Bluetooth driver is probably not the problem - the problem is specific to that particular device - so why replace everything - if it ain't broke don't touch it). For a while, I thought that my Sculpt Touch Mouse was having hardware issues (so I ordered a new one), but the procedure I just mentioned got it up and working; I guess I'll have a spare one. It sounds like the poster of original problem tried this solution, and it didn't work, so I'll mention one other thing I did that might be related.

I opened up the Services.msc console window. Found the Bluetooth Support Services service and restarted it. After it restarted, I selected properities for that service and set its startup value to automatic. That in itself did not correct the problem, that's when I tried the solution I mentioned above.

Maybe this additional step is necessary. ----------------------------- A couple of days later. My mouse was working fine for about 4 days, and the problem just reoccurred. I tried my previous solution and discovered that I did have to restart the Bluetooth Support Service and then remove the device and rediscover it to get it to work. In a few more days I'll be getting my new mouse.
